At the heart of the Spring Lane site will be the indoor community facility. A unique design means the building has both indoor, outdoor and outdoor undercover space serving a multitude of purposes.
Indoor Community Facility
The building will contain changing and shower facilities for the many sports users of the site. A bar and cafe that can be used to host functions and events, which will also be available during daytimes and evenings, for walkers and dog walkers, who may want to stop for refreshments.
The main club room will be partitioned during the daytime and provide classroom space for local SEN six form and college students. The students will be based on site and take part in vocational activities around the site, including, grounds and everyday maintenance, horticulture, environmental studies and also running of the café to gain retail and catering experience.
During the evenings the club room can be used to relax after a hard session of sport or be used by local clubs for meetings and activities.
The facility will have patio areas on three sides of the construction, enabling a view of all of the main sporting areas, the cricket pitches, the sand area and the rugby pitches.
Access to the facility will be fully available for those with disabilities and the car park will provide ample parking spaces for all site users.
The proposed construction is subject to planning and building approval, however before a formal submission is made, we would be keen to hear from potential users on the suggested design.
